Offshore Vacancies in the Oil & Gas Industry

People all over the world have lost jobs during the economic downturn and certainly statistics and television news programs can’t begin to give the real picture of what it’s like to have no job and no money coming in!

The whole thing eats away at your self-esteem and self-respect. But you don’t have to stay in that place. You can join the thousands of people finding renewed respect and satisfaction by applying for, and filling, the offshore vacancies in the oil and gas industry.

Even at entry level and without a college degree, YOU can be amongst those earning $50,000-$125,000 per year, depending on your skills and experience. That kind of money is for 6 months of work, not the usual 12 month grind with only two weeks off for your vacation. The oil industry pays really well, plus the benefits and the time off are terrific too.Offshore Vacancies

The oil and gas industry needs all sorts of skills, so there are entry level offshore jobs as well as offshore vacancies that require qualifications and/or certificates. Amongst the entry level offshore oil vacancies, you’ll find roustabouts jobs, roughnecks or floormen, mechanics, storekeepers, painters, cleaners, crane operators, electricians, rig mechanics, rig welders, rig electricians, medical staff, catering and housekeeping staff and many more. It not uncommon for someone to start at $50,000-$60,000, climb to $80,000-$90,000 in a couple of years and be raking in over $100,000 in five years or less.

Offshore Oil Vacancies Are for Ladies Too!

Not only does the offshore oil industry need all sorts of skills, they also need all sorts of people, including women.

You ladies out there may have thought that being a rigworker was “a man’s job”.

Not so.

There are many positions on oil rigs that women do every day, anything from the trades such as painters, welders, crane operators etc. to company people, accountants, administrators, commercial divers, subsea engineers, etc.

In other words, you pick the job and if there’s an oil vacancy, more than likely, a woman can do it just as well. You know the old saying – Nothing ventured, nothing gained!
